Marlon Moraes Takes Short Notice Fight Against Aljamain Sterling in Fresno
Marlon Moraes wanted to fight Jimmie Rivera at UFC 219 but instead he’ll return a few weeks earlier instead.
Following his first win inside the Octagon against John Dodson last week, Moraes has accepted a short notice bout against Aljamain Sterling at UFC Fight Night in Fresno, Calif. on Dec. 9.
Sources close to the matchup confirmed that Moraes had accepted the bout after Sterling first posted the news via his Twitter account.
The only Marlon that matters is a Wayans’ Brother and no “Magic” is gonna change that! ?

Sterling was originally expected to face submission specialist Rani Yahya but he fell out of their bout due to injury.
Moraes joined the UFC roster earlier this year after an incredible run as the World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion during an undefeated run that lasted for 13 consecutive fights.
That streak came to an end when he lost a close decision to Raphael Assuncao in his UFC debut but Moraes bounced back with the victory against Dodson earlier in November.
Now he’ll try to take out his second top 10 ranked opponent in row as he faces Sterling in a bantamweight showdown in Fresno.
