Cris Cyborg Signs Lucrative New UFC Contract
Cris “Cyborg” Justino has not only found her next opponent in Holly Holm but the reigning UFC women’s featherweight champion has also inked a new long term contract with the UFC.
Cyborg revealed the details on her website on Friday following contract negotiations that stretched out several months after she won the title back in July with a third round TKO against Tonya Evinger.
The deal reportedly lasts at least 15 months on a multi-fight contract for the reigning women’s featherweight champion.
Following that win, Cyborg’s previous contract only ran through October but obviously she negotiated in good faith with the UFC to get this new deal done.
According to the report about the new contract on her website, Cyborg is rumored to be “the highest paid female fighter currently on the UFC roster and one of the top paid fighters for the promotion.”
Cyborg has definitely defined herself as the top women’s fighter in the sport with an undefeated streak that stretches back more than a decade as she’s dispatched of every opponent to step in her path.
She’s currently 3-0 in the UFC including the title fight victory back in July to finally win the women’s featherweight title.
Cyborg will now make her first defense when she faces former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.
