Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal get into expletive filled altercation ahead of UFC 217

Bisping and Masvidal had to be separated by their teams and UFC security

Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal aren’t fighting each other at UFC 217 but you wouldn’t know that by the confrontation they shared at a hotel in New York on Wednesday.

As Bisping prepares to meet Georges St-Pierre in the main event this weekend, he ran into Masvidal, who is facing Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson on the same card, as they got into a heated argument while waiting for an elevator.

Masvidal has blasted Bisping quite often over the past year, accusing the middleweight champion of ducking top contenders — most notably his teammate Yoel Romero. Bisping then responded in kind with several interviews of his own but the two fighters finally came together this week and the situation nearly turned explosive.

In the video posted by Masvidal’s manager Abraham Kawa, the two fighters can be seen shouting all sorts of expletives at each other over the course a minute before Bisping finally steps onto the elevator.

At the very end of the clip, Masvidal tosses in a homophobic slur during his tirade aimed at Bisping during the altercation.

UFC officials were on hand as Bisping and Masvidal were kept apart so the confrontation ended with insults being tossed around but no physical altercation took place.
