Tecia Torres faces Michelle Waterson at UFC 218 in Detroit
A new fight has joined an already loaded line up on the UFC 218 card from Detroit as top 10 ranked strawweights Tecia Torres and “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson face off on Dec. 2.
UFC officials announced the new matchup on Tuesday.

The fight will serve as Torres’ opportunity to get a third win in a row as she continued to claw her way into title contention. In July, Torres got the first finish of her professional career when she submitted Juliana Lima with a second round rear choke.
Now Torres will try to keep that momentum going when she returns at UFC 218.
As for Waterson, she came storming into the UFC women’s strawweight division with two very impressive wins over Angela Magana and Paige VanZant before her run was stopped by Rose Namajunas earlier this year.
Now Waterson will look to get back on a winning path as she faces Torres in a pivotal strawweight matchup in December.
Torres vs. Waterson joins an already stacked fight card featuring Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar with the featherweight title up for grabs in the main event as well as Alistair Overeem facing Francis Ngannou and “Ultimate Fighter” coaches Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje meeting in what should be a crowd pleasing lightweight affair.
